The short version
The course

Where can I play disc golf in Grimes?

Glenstone MultiGolf Park is the public course in town. The City of Grimes built it in 2023, and the city bills it as the first MultiGolf park in the Des Moines metro and the first 18-hole course of its kind in the country. It is free to play. Bring your own discs.

As disc golf it plays as an easy, walkable round of about a mile and an hour, good for beginners and families. WHO 13 reported the first phase cost about $89,900 from the city's capital improvement funds and was expected to take about a week to build.

Getting there

Where is Glenstone MultiGolf Park?

It is on the southeast side of Grimes. A May 2023 WHO 13 report put it at the corner of SE 37th St and 100th St. The city's park page shows it on a map but lists no street address, so the easiest move is the UDisc app, which has the course pinned and will route you to it. The city's plan called for two parking lots in a second phase.

Do not mix it up with Glenstone Park, the neighborhood park at 3100 SE Glenstone Dr with a shelter, a trail, and an open gazebo. Different spot, different purpose.

Three ways to play

What is MultiGolf?

The city describes MultiGolf as a new sport for the whole family, with three games sharing the same 18 holes:

The city does not list any equipment rental, so bring your own discs, ball, or club. The city also posts no course rules or hours. We would plan on a daylight round and let faster groups play through.
